Despite being on the heavy side, this trimmer is a great product. I have over 100 bushes of various sizes in my yard, and this trimmer handles them all with the two added extensions I purchased. A few bushes are over 15' tall so I just add the extensions and do the job. It is a little unwieldy but manageable. I am 78 and don't have the strength I used to, but I still get the job done. The blade can be tilted and cuts easily. Best part: I do not have to use a ladder any more!! Wife's orders. The 40 volt battery lasts longer than I expected and can be quickly charged. There is a strap that came with the extensions, but no instructions how to use it; the trimmer is well-balanced so I don't bother with the strap. After about a dozen bushes, no problems. But I have a lot more to do! Reasonably priced, efficient trimmer. Go for it.I can't say enough about Greenworks products and their customer service. I have hedge trimmers, blowers, weed eaters, and saws. They all perform as good or better than gas with long run times and enough power to get through most non commercial needs. Never need to worry about dirty carbuerators or gasoline issues again. Today I called technical support and Stephanie was awesome. Worked with me to diagnose the issue, gave recommendations, and ultimately came up with an amicable solution. She was extremely professional and made an already happy customer proud to know Greenworks stands by there products.I've had a echo hedge clipper for 20 years. (short) It's HEAVY but not a problem and always starts.I needed to reach out and up. Hoped for lighter weight. I was totally confused picking a 20V most said not much power. So I went to search for 40v and there were only a couple. This one cost more than the smaller ones but oh well. 30 min battery life sounded very short. It comes today. Feels really cheap plastic. WELL I WANTED LIGHT. The battery was in a big battery case but light. I figured I'll probably return it to Amazon. So I tried it. I'm taking a break after what SEEMED like a hour of clipping. (AND STILL NOT DEAD)).During the clipping of two huge magnolia trees (I had to on a ladder to get the top of both). A few hedges and a few boxwoods. I was sold. I thought wow this is so much easier than my 300+ dollar echo gas unit. It's not perfect - doesn't do it all but I kept thinking I LIKE THIS.Cons..Balance seems off. Seems like it needs another 18-20" to the length not to reach out forward further. (as it's already hard to hold out there) but because more length would move the fulcrum a bit and the extra length would make the saw end feel lighter.FLASH I just noticed they have an extension pole option. I JUST ORDERED IT.That should really help with balance.I also wasn't nuts about lack of adjustable length. But it seemed to work well as is - and now with the extension pole It will be more balanced AND will have a couple of length options.I won't cut the 3/4" branches that the echo gas does but I am surprised how fast it cuts the 5/8 or what ever size they are. They seems larger than 5/8I don't have to move slowly - it has power and cuts fast as I can swing it.I'm going to go up from 4 to 5 starts because I found the extension pole.HOWEVER now it's a bit pricy at around 240.00. If it HOLDS UP - it will be worth it.Too short without pole extension.Cuts well. Like it! Just a little heavy after cutting for awhile but I’m 76 years old now! LOL Not!I Love it, I have gone all "Greenworks" Lawn and yard equitment. I now have three 40 volt batteries but only use one and part of a second battery to trim, edge, blow and cut my yard. It takes about 2 hours.Ease of use., and reach.Bought this for my dad who is 83 years old and he has no problem using it … always been happy with greenworksThis works really well. It is a bit heavy, particularly because it's on the end of an eight foot pole, but it makes it very easy to trim tall or wide hedges.Solide et bon fit avec ma scie pole 40 Volts . Prix élevé pour un bout de baton .Extension for the pole saw works great....It really extends the range.
